Two weeks before this picture was made the interior of this front room was piled high with broken pieces of wood and glass, torn up screens, newspaper and cardboard, old clothes, bits and pieces of old, broken appliances and yardwaste. But I knew that with just a bit of sweat equity invested in this broken-down skeleton of a home we'd have a great series of sets to work in. What a perfect lesson for my understanding why filmmakers, in particular, prefer to work on location versus having to build a complex of fly-in walls to tell their stories in.

Damn! Just look at that wall surface – and that primo c.1930's linoleum floor! Priceless.
